media consumption audit

Newspapers
  • Which daily newspapers (if any) do you read?
  • The sun
  • What sections of newspapers do you turn to first, and why?
  • To the sports so i am able to be updated to any upcoming boxing fights. Also its the most interesting part of a newspaper in my opinion.
  • What sections do you never read, and why?
  • None 
  • What kinds of stories do you usually read and why?
  •  Usually Business related since i really engaged in the business world and what is changing.
  • Do you, or someone else, buy the newspaper you read?
  • I tend to buy them my self as i know what read and no to read.
  • Do you look at the online versions of any newspapers? Which newspapers? Why
  • i do not because the news online are mostly fake and i find it better read on a newspaper.

Magazines
  • What magazines (if any) do you buy regularly?  Why
  • i normally buy Mens Health  or GQ. One is for easy tips to help me at gym and GQ is to keep me updated on current men's fashion tastes.
  • What sections of the magazines do you read and not read, and why?
  • I read the Mens fashion page and the lifestyle page. I do not read anything that a woman will be interested in because im not a woman.

Television
  • Approximately how many hours a week do you spend watching television?
  • 2 hours 
  • What times of day do you usually watch television?
  • Mid day so after school 
  • What programmes do you like best and why?
  •  Cookery because it makes me hungry and i enjoy educating my self about cooking.
  • Do you watch alone or with others? If you watch with others, who decides what you will watch?
  • i watch alone.
  • Do you watch 'live' TV or on-demand/catch-up? Do you use any other devices to watch TV (such as laptop or tablet?
  • I only watch live when there is a boxing match being held. I normally watch my tv shows on my Computer.

Radio

  • no
  • Does anyone else in your house listen to the radio? If so, when do they listen
  • nope 

Cinema
  • What films have you seen in the cinema in the last month?
  • i have seen the Nun in the last month.
  • What films have you seen in other places – for example, through Netflix, Amazon Prime, satellite/cable film channels (free or otherwise) or streaming?
  • I use netflix to watch movies and tv shows. The recent movie i watched on netflix was Naked.
  • Who else watched the films with you?
  • when at home i like to watch the movies alone.

  • Me

  • i always use my Computer or my tablet to watch films.

Online
  • How often do you access the internet?
  • Everyday, every second 
  • Where do you access the internet?  At home, at college or school, or at work?
  • i access the internet at college and at home for work purposes.

  • thats confidential
  • What are the main reasons for accessing these sites – for example, for information, to make purchases, communicate with friends or for entertainment?
  • The main reason i use the internet is either for entertainment or work. Sometimes use the internet to make purchases if need to.

  • Nothing. mostly focused on accessing the internet.
  • What different devices do you use to access the internet? What is your primary device for accessing the internet?
  • My computer is my primary device.
  • What social networks do you use regularly (e.g. Twitter, Instagram)? Why do you belong to these networks in particular?
  • i regularly use instagram and snapchat so i don't loose contact with people around the world. Also to see who still knows me and who doesn't

Reflection

  • What will you change in your media consumption habits this year as a result of studying A Level Media?
  • i will be mostly focused on studying and revising. the media will be used during weekends due to A-level.
  • List three sources of media (websites/newspapers/apps/TV programmes etc.) that you will start to access this year that you haven't engaged with previously.
