Publication to blog and analysis
1) Save your finished Photoshop magazine cover as a JPEG image and upload it to your evaluation blogpost.
2) Write an evaluation of your work: have you succeeded in your brief to create a new, original edition of an existing magazine?
3) Put your cover alongside a couple of genuine covers of your chosen magazine. How professional is your work alongside genuine examples?
You can clearly see that my magazine represents Men's Health however, when put side to side with a genuine example, there are clear mistakes to be improved.
4) What is the strongest aspect of your work?
My strongest aspect of my work is that i placed my central image in the correct place covering the title which is replicated from the genuine Men's Health magazine. Also the cover lines that were used reinforce the central image as everything is linked together. There are many tips which can be used for surveillance for the audience.
5) What is the weakest aspect of your Photoshop magazine cover?
The font for each of my layer are in different sizes which may be difficult for the audience to read. Also my muscles contradict the main flash as it is not built like other Men's health models.
6) What would you do differently if you completed this assignment again?
In a year time when i construct a magazine for my coursework , i would definitely be bigger and stronger which will clearly represent a Men's health magazine. Furthermore, i will improve by having each font the same size and visible to the eye.

RESEARCH
Research
Create a blogpost called 'Magazine practical task research' and complete the following tasks:
1) Use your lesson notes on magazine genres and conventions to view a range of potential magazine covers. Create a shortlist of three potential magazines and embed an example front cover from each one.
2) Select your chosen magazine to create a new edition for and explain the thinking behind your choice.
The colour scheme of this Glamour magazine is very unique and not like any other Glamour magazines as they are very vibrant and emphasis women's beauty. However in this poster, Zendaya is conveyed to be very masculine as she is communicating empowerment and strength. The central image can be interpreted in many ways due to her subverting female stereotypes.
3) Find three different front covers for your chosen magazine and embed them in your blogpost. Analyse the fonts, colours and typical design. What is the language or writing style? How are the cover lines presented? You need to become an expert in the design and construction of this magazine and its branding.
The strong, masculine stance of the Hugh Jackman emphasises that it’s targeted towards a male target audience. Hugh Jackman is predominantly associated with superhero and action movies because he is very robust and muscular, which is perfect for the magazine and the audience. The veins that are being denoted on his arms emphasises that Hugh Jackman is fit. This corresponds to the cover line ‘how to burn 180 KCAL’. This will affect the audience by encouraging them to work on their fitness. The cover line ends with ellipses to tell the reader there is more information that will certainly benefit their life. Also creates a sense of urgency for the audience in reading the magazine to further go in depth relating to the cover line. The number 231 stands out from the other conventions therefore, the audience will understand that it’s a very important part of the magazine and perhaps may be attracted instantly when read.
